Sepino

Live webcam is located in the center of Sepino, showing one of its main squares.

Sepino, which you see in real time, is a miniature picturesque town in the Molise region on the border with Campania. The settlement with a central square online gained its fame thanks to the town of Altilia, where the remains of the Samnite and later Roman city of Sepinum of the 2nd century BC are kept. It is located on the road from Beneventum to Corfinium. On its territory there are the ruins of the temples of Jupiter and Apollo, as well as fragments of ancient streets and buildings. On the remains of the gate, the inscription of AD 168 is still visible.

Molise

The smallest region of Italy – Molise, where the city of Sepino is located in this webcam, is located in the central-southern part of Italy, between the mountain range of the Southern Apennines and the Adriatic Sea.

The seaside area of Molise showed in live camera, has many beaches. There are comfortable beach areas only in Termoli. Three of them – Spiagge Centrali, Rio Vivo and Sant Antonio – have been awarded the Blue Flag.

Besides the aforementioned city of Sepium, the ruins of an ancient Roman amphitheater, a forum and a basilica, which can be seen near Pietrabbondante, are preserved in Molise.

From the Middle Ages on the territory of Molise, where the online camera is located, there are the charming Abbey of the early 7th century Abbazia di San Vincenzo in Volturno and the 12th century Duomo Cathedral in Termoli. The abbey is located 30 km northwest of the city of Isernia, close to the fortress of the same name, and is famous for the frescoes of Epiphany of the 7th century.

Campobasso is the capital of the Molise region in the webcam. Its main attraction is the Monforte Castle hanging over the city at an altitude of 974 m above sea level. The citadel was built in about 1000, later it was rebuilt several times. There is currently a meteorological station in Monforte. History buffs are drawn to the Archaeological Museum of Samnite Art.

Another city of Molise online, Termoli is also rich in interesting sights. Of particular note is the 13th century Castello Svevo, built by King Frederick II. Of the natural beauty, the picturesque reserve Riserva Collemeluccio deserves attention. It is located on 350 charming hectares of Molise territory.

Climate

Compared to the rest of southern Italy, the climate in Molise in the webcam, is rather harsh. Snow is lying in the mountainous area for several months. The climate is milder along the coast and in the Volturno Valley. The air temperature in Molise in July warms up to + 20C, in January it is within 0C.
