Khabarovsk bridge

The webcam is aimed at the famous Amur or Khabarovsk bridge, also known under the names “Amur miracle” and “Alekseevsky bridge”, thrown across the Amur river in the city of Khabarovsk. The viaduct in the online camera is a real “engineering miracle”, which is more than 100 years old.

On the overpass, which you see on air, there are one-way railway traffic and two-lane car traffic.

The grandiose building, shown in a real time, until 1917 bore the name of “Alekseevsky”, or “Tsarsky” in honor of the heir of Tsar Nicholas II, Tsarevich Alexei. The bridge online, was being built in the period from 1913 to 1916. Its erection ended with a solemn consecration.

The strong reinforced concrete structure of the Amur Bridge in the webcam was the longest among the bridges of the Old World and the largest in the Eastern Hemisphere. The length of each of the 18 spans was 130 meters.

In 1908, at the World Exhibition in Paris, the project of the Amur Bridge online, along with the Eiffel Tower was awarded a gold medal.

The Khabarovsk Bridge in this live broadcast connects the opposite banks of the Amur River. It became a successful completion of the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Amur highway (Chita – Khabarovsk) construction. The erection of a bridge in a webcam was important for the city of Khabarovsk and for the whole of Russia, especially in terms of the economy.

Until 1975, the Khabarovsk bridge over the Amur, which you see in the online live camera, served as the only crossing of the river before the construction of a railway bridge near Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

In the 80s of the 20th century, the “Amur Miracle” shown in the webcam was examined. As a result, was made a decision to reconstruct the viaduct: replace the arched part and spans. The speed of movement along the overpass in online broadcast was limited.

In the 90s of the last century, the bridge where this online camera is directed to, was reconstructed: the old openwork spans were replaced.

In Khabarovsk, where the live stream is coming from, there is the Amur Bridge Museum, a popular place for tourists coming to the city. In the Museum of the Khabarovsk Bridge, among the exhibits there is a disassembled form of an overpass in an online camera.

In the spring of 1996, during the reconstruction of the bridge, which the web camera is directed at, Russian President Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin came to Khabarovsk during his election campaign.

Amursky bridge in real time, is one of the most unique places of interest in Khabarovsk. Its image can be seen on the Russian 5000 RUB banknote.

Nowadays, “Amur Miracle” surprises the guests of the city with its gigantic size.

While walking on a motor ship along the Amur River, you can enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the great river and see this wonderful bridge, thanks to the route of the ship, laid exactly to the bridge in the online camera and back.
