In front of you in the online camera is the Golden Bridge, located in the city of Vladivostok. The bridge, shown in live stream, is one of the five largest cable-stayed bridges in the world. Along the length of the main span, the Golden Bridge in the webcam is the Guinness Book of Records holder.
During the project development of the Vladivostok bridge, which is broadcasted online, the features of the relief and climate of the region were taken into account.
The Golden Bridge is located in the funicular zone and connects the city center with districts and the federal highway.
The first projects of the bridge over the Golden Horn Bay were developed at the end of the 19th century, but the First World War did not allow them to be realized. Later there was a revolution and civil war. With the advent of peacetime, the question of the need to build a bridge in this webcam has become topical again. New projects were prepared in the mid-30s of the 20th century, but World War II broke out. Real work on the construction of the bridge began only thanks to the decision to hold the APEC summit on the Russian Island in 2012.
The length of the Golden Bridge in Vladivostok, where the online camera is directed to, is approximately 1400 meters, the width is about 30 meters. The overall structure is more than 2 kilometers long. You can walk across the bridge in 30 minutes. The height of the structure above the water level is 65 meters, the height of the pylons is 230 meters. Golden Bridge in this live camera can withstand winds up to 47 meters per second and an earthquake of 8 points.
There are six lanes for cars on the bridge, for pedestrians there is a special zone through which they can freely pass the entire bridge in 20-30 minutes. In addition, there is public transport across the bridge. Buses run to Russky Island and to Katernaya street.
The main feature of the Golden Bridge in the webcam is the non-standard shape of its pylons. The bridge supports do not have an upper diaphragm, there are only two inclined diverging struts. Previously, pylons of this design were never built anywhere. The Golden Bridge with its unusual technical characteristics and original architecture is one of the ten largest bridges in the world.
