There is possible to moor the ships, but is quite hard to do that, as the bay is not protected from winds. The depth of the sandy bottom reaches 15 meters deep. But it is quite shallow close to the coast, which makes comfortable rest with children. The sea is quite safe and quiet, with crystal clear water suitable for water sports fans (especially for diving and snorkeling lovers).
Cala Romantica is a silence paradise from the tourist bustle. It is located near the Cave of Drach, which is about 2 km long. Concerts of classical live music are held in an underground lake over 10 m long with the boats as the seats. You can walk right from this beach to the Cala Varques bay. The length of the route is 3 kilometers. Also Cala Romantica is one of three sandy coves within a kilometer radius. Other bays located near: Cala Mandia and Cala Anguila, which can be easily reached on foot.
Palma de Mallorca
Cala Romantica is one of the many bays of the city of Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the Balearic Islands archipelago. Palma is one of the most fashionable cities in the region. The center is full of luxury residential areas, shopping streets, intricate alleys and restored buildings. Some fragments of medieval walls are clearly visible from the harbor.
The main sight of the city is the Cathedral (XIV-XIX centuries) with our live stream camera, which crowns the oldest part of the city. The nave of a cathedral with a height of 44 meters and a length of 121 meters makes the cathedral one of the highest Gothic structures in Europe. Its fantastic lighting system was designed by famous Antonio Gaudi. The complex also includes the Cathedral Museum, the Art Museum and the Palace of the Moorish rulers of the island - Palau de L'Almudain (X-XII cc.).
Despite the fact that the main attraction point of the capital of the island is the magnificent beaches with the boiling life, a lot of luxurious hotels and pensions are built here. The doors of restaurants and cafes practically do not close, so tourists will never be bored either not on the beach. You can visit the interesting green town Andrach (Andratx) where is our web camera online, and the neighboring resort of St. Elm with the bird island of Dragonera.
The important place of the northwestern part of the island is the Serra de Tramuntana - mountain chain with picturesque peaks and steep sea cliffs, surrounded by olives and citrus valleys, and very picturesque towns and villages. Town Soller is surrounded with a colorful mountain village of Deia and the monastery of Valdemossa to the south-west. The most important pilgrimage center on the island is the Lluc Monastery (XIII century). Very interesting ancient city Pollensa with its monastery of the Hermitage de Nostra-Senyora del Puig (XVIII century). If you move to the north of the island, we advise you to visit the town of Alcudia, where you can take a sea excursion along the coast or to the territory of the s’Abufera nature park, which protects the last stretch of wild marshes that once covered the entire northern coast of the bay. Porto Cristo town lies in the heart of the coast, with magnificent caves, where the classical music concerts are held.
Mallorca is famous for the fact that every August the royal family comes to rest at Marivent Castle in full force. Monarchs take part in the sailing regatta for the King's Cup, and in the castle of Almudine there are official receptions of the kings of Spain.
All year round, Palma de Mallorca retains the optimum temperature regime. The island of Mallorca is in the zone of dominance of the Mediterranean, forming a warm winter and hot summer. At the height of the summer season there are high temperatures, but the heat is not exhausting due to the rather mild climate. Winter - moderately wet and quite warm. The unique climate of Mallorca allows you to relax on the island during the year. However, the main tourist season falls between April and October. In this time the beach vacation is at the highest level. The number of sunny hours a day in the summer reaches double digits, and the water temperature rises to 24-25C, so it is not surprising that Mallorca is an ideal choice for a summer holiday.
