Old Hunstanton Beach

This webcam, located at the very top of the former Coastguard Lookout, provides a unique panoramic view of Old Hunstanton Beach, located in Norfolk County. The live streamed coastline is famous for its sandy beaches, especially spectacular at low tide, coastal huts, dunes and kitesurfing.

Despite the fact – there is very little sun on Old Hunstanton Beach, this is a great place to walk along the promenade.

Hunstanton

Hunstanton, or Sunny Hunny in the live broadcast, is one of is an elegant Victorian resort dating back to 1846. Hunstanton in this webcam, divided into Old Hunstanton and New Hunstanton villages. In the 1860s, Lord Manor Styleman Le Strange came up with a place where people can relax by the sea, and New Hunstanton as we know it today was born.

Old Hunstanton, whose beach you see online, is known for its famous striped cliffs and the Esplanade Gardens – a traditional Victorian waterfront garden with bowling alley, children’s playground, and golf lawn. The gardens of the town are especially delightful during the spring and summer months.

Beautiful Hunstanton Beach, featured in live camera, is great for playing on the sand, exploring rock pools and enjoying the sea.

Almost 5 km along the coast, where the webcam is directed at, is occupied by the Stone Age settlement of Heacham. Its most famous inhabitants were the Rolfe family in the 16th century, namely John Rolfe, who married the Native American Pocahontas after an adventure in the New World. Her image can still be seen on the signboard at the entrance to the village, and the Pocahontas monument stands in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin.  

Heicham is also known for being at the heart of the Norfolk lavender industry, and in the summer, the landscape and the air are filled with the color and scent of lavender.

The city has two beautiful beaches – North and South: both of them are directed to the West and look at a huge bay 32 km away. The water depth here is shallow and comfortable, making these beaches ideal for children.

Heicham is also close to the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path hiking trails.

It is worth visiting the Caley Mill, an example of the Gothic revival in the architectural style. The mill is unique due to the open waterwheel on the outside of the structure. The visitor center has a teahouse and a farm shop.
