Morecambe, where the online camera is located, is a city on the coast of the Morecambe Bay, in the Irish Sea, in Lancashire, North-West England, 86 km north of Liverpool.

Morecambe was founded in 1889, when the settlements of Poulton-le-Sands and Torrisholme were united. The city got its name in honor of Morecambe Bay, which the live camera is aimed at.

Until the middle of the 20th century, Morecambe, whose coastline well shown online, was a miniature village. A little later, this settlement began to turn into a popular seaside resort.
