Our live stream camera shows the most popular water sports beach of Praia Grande. Every year on the coast in our webcam Europe and World championships are held. For several weeks, Praia Grande is hosting the best athletes in the world fighting with the amazing waves of this coast.
The city of Sintra with beach in our online broadcast, is an ancient Portuguese city with the 11 centuries history. It is located at a distance of 23 km northwest of Lisbon. The city in our webcam is rich in exotic parks, dense forests, ancient castles, majestic palaces, mysterious monasteries.
Besides beautiful historical sights, the coastal city, of course, has magnificent beaches, one of which, Praia Grande is shown by our live camera. In 1995, UNESCO granted Sintra the status of the world culture monument.
The city with our webcam is located 18 km from the famous Cape Roca – the most western point of the Eurasian continent.
The most important wealth of Sintra is its beaches with golden sands, clear waters, great surfing, water sports and fishing opportunities. From the nearby cliffs you can jump with a paraglider.
The most popular beaches of Sintra are: Praia Grande in our live camera, Agrada, Praia das Maçãs (“Apple Beach”), Magoito, Ursa and Aguda.
In the waters of the Atlantic, off the coast of Sintra, there is large number of marine mammals (octopuses, cuttlefish, squids, mussels, shells, crabs, lobsters and lobsters) as also many plants.
The historic center of Sintra, the beach area of which is shown on our online webcam has narrow streets, stairs, arcades and amazing palaces, so it’s better to inspect it on foot or by car. From any point of the city you can see two large white cones – these are the exhaust pipes of the kitchen in the National Palace of Sintra, the summer residence of the royal family from the 15th century. On the southeastern side of the mountain range there is an interesting fortress of Pena Castle surrounded by a park with magnificent and dizzying view of the city.
Sintra, whose coast is clearly visible online, stores several ancient temples. The most striking of them are: the Romanesque St. Martin church, the Romanesque-Gothic St. Mary church of the 12th century and rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755, St. Peter church with baroque tiles.
In the city with our live broadcast also there is a large number of museums and art galleries: local history museum, creativity museum Leal de Camara and Dorita Castel Branco, Municipal Art Gallery, Archaeological Museum, popular Toy Museum with exhibits of 16-20 centuries.
Not far from the city there is a 16th century Capuchin monastery – the rock-hewn dwelling with several rooms covered in cork.
The Monserrate Botanical Garden has a collection of subtropical plants, exotic trees and shrubs.
