Geirangerfjord cruise port
In the webcam there is the port of Geiranger, one of the most visited cruise ports in Northern Europe, located at the foot of a small village in the south of Norway, in the province (fylke) of Møre og Romsdal.
In the live camera you can often see a liner standing in the roadstead with the pontoon pier SeaWalk Pier. If there are many ships in the bay, then passengers from the rest ones are transported to the tourist office and souvenir shop on tender boats. As a rule, a large vessel is placed next to the pontoon in the web camera. How many liners ply on a particular day, there is always the opportunity to observe in this online camera.
The village with the port in the live camera is located at the end of the most beautiful fjord in Norway, Geirangerfjorden, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005. There are amazingly beautiful landscapes and incomparable nature. Numerous waterfalls (Seven Sisters, Bridal Veil, Bridegroom, Storsæterfossen, Fossevandring and others) cascading down from the rocks have legends which you can listen during tours on an inflatable boat.
Geiranger Church is the main church of the village and the surrounding area.
Mostly, tourists arrive in Geiranger in the summer, when cruise ships moor in the port in the online camera. Bus and other excursions are organized for travelers. The tourist office is very conveniently located, right next to the terminal where tenders (motorboats) of cruise ships stop. At the height of the season, a huge number of tourists crowd around the tourist office.
The population of the village where the live broadcast comes from is about 300 people, but in the summer it increases many times due to visitors.
Geiranger, where the webcam is located, is famous for its picturesque views. It is included in the list of the best tourist locations according to the Lonely Planet portal.
To appreciate the beauty of the fjord in the vicinity of Geiranger in this online camera, there is three viewing platforms: Flydalsjuvet, on the Eagle Road (Ørnevegen) and on Mount Dalsnibba. A beautiful view of the bay in the web camera opens from the Vesterasfjellet site, even higher – Løsta.
In the village, shown online, there are many souvenir shops, cafes where you can drink a cup of coffee, enjoying the amazing view of the fjord and mountains immersed in the clouds. It is possible to sail on a reconstructed Viking boat under the Norwegian flag.
Traveling around Geiranger in a live broadcast, you will not be bored. Here you can: go boating and kayaking, go fishing and catch mackerel, cod, pollock and catfish (although fishing is possible throughout the year, we advise you to familiarize yourself with the rules of fishing and, if necessary, purchase a license), go hiking with amazing view whose final destinations tend to be former mountain farms, including abandoned ones.
