Geiranger you see in web camera, is a small tourist village in Sunnmøre region of Møre og Romsdal county in the western part of Norway. The population of the town in the online footage, is about 300 inhabitants, but during the summer the population grows seven times. The main industry of the town is tourism. The village, that is demonstrated in live camera, is visited yearly by more than a hundred cruise ships. The nearest city to Geiranger is Ålesund.
Geiranger, where the live broadcast comes from, is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and has been named the best travel destination in Scandinavia by Lonely Planet. Since 2005, the Geirangerfjord area online, has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Seven Sisters waterfall is located just west of Geiranger in the web camera, directly across another waterfall called ‘The Suitor’. Geiranger Church is the main church for the village and surrounding area.
