This live webcam shows you the main square of Montevideo – Independence Square (Plaza Independencia).

On the right side of the live broadcast there is the Artigas Mausoleum with a magnificent equestrian statue and an underground burial chamber of José Artigas, the national hero of Uruguay.

A striking example of colonial architecture, the Estevez Palace, is also in live mode. It appeared in 1873 and served as a presidential residence.

In the background of the live camera there is a neoclassical building, was once the seat of the Uruguayan government, and now houses the Government House Museum – the Legislative Palace.

On the left side of the webcam you can see the exquisite Palacio Salvo in an eclectic style. The Salvo Palace was completed in 1928 and for some time was the tallest building in Latin America, but now it does not lose the title of the highest in the country.
