The webcam shows the 6-km beach of Playa de la Barrosa, located in the municipality of Chiclana de la Frontera, province of Cadiz. This historic site served as a venue for the Battle of Barrosa in the Iberian Wars on May 5, 1811.

La Barrosa beach in this online broadcast is divided into two parts: Paseo Maritimo – a well-maintained urban beach with a footpath along the coastline, bars, restaurants and parking lots and another zone that extends to the narrowest point of the coast of Chiclana – Tore del Puerco. This part of the beach is considered as a natural reserve with beautiful sand dunes and large pine trees.

Chiclana de la Frontera

Here stands an important religious monument of the city – the Church of St. John the Baptist. (Iglesia Parroquial De San Juan Bautista). The construction of this temple began in 1552, and it was completed only in the 18th century. Inside the church there are several altars, elliptical domes, arches, balconies, bas-reliefs and two paintings of the Zurbaran school.

Another interesting attraction of Chiclana de la Frontera with Barros beach, which you see in the webcam, is the clock tower (La Torre Del Reloj), where the city government was located in the 18th century. This unique tower is built of sand stones.

Another popular tourist destination in the resort is the baroque church and convent of Jesus Nazareno (Iglesia Y Convento De Jesús Nazareno) of the 17th century. The facade of this historical monument is lined with Carrara marble. Famous almond cake and other sweets are baked in this monastery.

A bright attraction is the Castle of Sancti Petri (Castillo De Sancti Petri) with a viewing platform to the beautiful city.
