This live camera shows a panorama of the city of Osaka, located in the Kinki region of Western Japan, on the same island with the capital, Tokyo. On three sides the prefecture is surrounded by mountains, and on the fourth side it is washed by the Osaka Bay.
Osaka, where the webcam is located, is the historical commercial capital of Japan, and now it is one of the main industrial centers and largest ports in the country. Osaka is called “Japanese Italy”.
The city where this live stream comes from is divided into districts. Osaka’s main business center is the northern Kita-ku area. Its center, “Umeda”, houses shopping arcades, modern architecture and the 40-storey Umeda Sky Building. To the east of the center there is Osaka Castle.
The brightest area of the city with covered passages is Minami-ku. This is the southern part of Osaka shown online. On its territory there is the Sumiyoshi Temple with a magnificent arched bridge, where the souls of the dead sailors rest. Also here is the oldest Buddhist Shitennoji Temple, erected by Prince Shotoku Taishi.
In the northern part of the city in the webcam – Shinsaibashi, there are many youth people. Here are the famous entertainment districts: America Mura (American village) and European Village, Dotonbori, Namba. As well as theatres, cinemas and shops.
Very popular is the Tempodzan Coastal Village micro district where a Ferris wheel is installed. Also there are market, Kaiyukan Aquarium and Japan’s largest outlet ATC (Asia-Pacific Trade Center).
The main attraction of Osaka, which panorama is visible in the online live webcam, is the five-story samurai Osaka Castle (more precisely, its copy, restored after the Second World War). The castle is surrounded by the Osaka- jo Koen Park, especially popular in spring, during the cherry blossom season.
The Oska Umeda area is famous for its giant underground shopping center.

In summer, Osaka is very hot and stuffy. July and August are the hottest months when the air temperature reaches +35 C. At night during this period about +25 C.
