In this picturesque webcam, you can see the village of Tsoukalades located on the western side of Lefkada Island, close to the sea. The settlement where the online broadcast comes from, runs along the main road and is located in the part between the cities of Lefkada and Agios Nikitas.

However, there are crystal clear water and a relaxing atmosphere surrounded by steep green cliffs.

Lefkada

The resort island of Lefkada in Greece, where the live stream is conducted from, has won recognition as one of the most picturesque and beautiful in the whole country. Its name, translated from Greek meaning “white”, the island acquired thanks to the snow-white cliffs along the western coast.

The island in this live camera belongs to the Ionian Archipelago. Dense vegetation mainly covers the southern and eastern parts of this island.

Tourists tend to go to Lefkada for long golden beaches with a gentle descent into the water.

In the east of Lefkada with this web camera, there are small islands are scattered in the sea, the most popular are Madouri, Sparti, Skorpios.

The capital of the island is the city of Lefkada online, a miniature, but picturesque town. The settlement looks like a mosaic – the houses are painted in a variety of colors.

The town is located on the northeastern edge of the island in the live cam, 1 km from the bridge that connects the island with Aetolia-Acarnania. Here are the ruins of the Santa Maura castle. In Lefkada itself, it is interesting to look at the churches of St. Minas, St. Demetrius, St. Spyridon, St. John of Anjou and the Church of Pantokrator, where the grave of the poet Aristotelis Valaoritis is located.

The local Archaeological Museum, post-Byzantine art gallery, Ethnographic Museum and the original Phonograph Museum are also worth mentioning.

On the mountain, with a wonderful view of the city and the sea, stands the Faneromeni monastery. Lefkada Gira large sandy beach is located at the foot of it.

There are pretty villages on the island in the webcam, with a sandy beach – Lygia and Nikiana.

The largest tourist center in Lefkada is Nydri. In the sea opposite the resort there are the islands of Madouri (Valaoritis island), Sparta, Helonaki, and next to it there is the Agia Kiriaki peninsula with Dorpfeld’s house at the top. There is a waterfall 2 km from Nydri, inside the island.

Vliho is a coastal settlement near the gulf of the same name. The beautiful village of Geni is located opposite the beach.

Another settlement, Sivota, is located on the banks of a fjord with crystal clear waters.

Vasiliki is Nydri’s main competitor. It is located in the south of the island with the online footage, on the shore of a large bay, closed from the winds, near a sandy-pebble beach. From Vasiliki it is convenient by boat to get to the excellent Agiofili beach and to the Sappho rock.

Another major tourism center in Lefkada is Agios Nikitas.

One of the most picturesque beaches on the island of Lefkada in the live camera, is the sandy beach of Kathisma.

One more beautiful sandy beach is Porto Katsiki, famous for its sheer cliff and crystal blue waters. A small boat from Nydri and Vasiliki runs to Porto Katsiki almost every day.
