If to translate the name Vestmannaeyjar from Icelandic, it will mean: “the islands of the Western people.” The first settlers of the archipelago, where the webcam is located, were the Irish. In 1627, the islands were captured by the Turkish fleet, and the Barbary pirates took people into slavery.
