Lubin

Lubin in the webcam is an ancient city of Poland near the Zimnica River. It is located in the south-west of the country in the historically picturesque region of Lower Silesia, which is part of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

For the first time Lublin, shown online, is mentioned in the second half of the 12th century.

Nowadays, the city where the live broadcast is conducted from is a small developing settlement. Of the interesting sights of mention is the baroque Old Town Hall (Stary Ratusz) of the second half of the 18th century, destroyed in 1945 and restored in 1950. Now it houses restaurants and a bank.

An interesting historical monument of the city in the online camera is the medieval Lubin Castle of the 14th century (Zamek w Lubinie), or rather its remains.

Of the religious sights of Lubin in the live camera, the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Kościół Narodzenia Najświętszej Marii Panny) of the 17th century stands out. It is a Catholic church with a wooden frame.

Another interesting temple of the city in the webcam is the Gothic Catholic Church of the Mother of God (Kościół Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej).

In Lubin, the view of which is shown by the online camera, the ruins of old defensive structures of the 14th century have also been preserved, including one Legnice tower that protected the entrance to the city.

Lower Silesian Voivodeship

The Lower Silesian Voivodeship, where the city in the online camera is located, is a real treasury with castles and palaces, among which is the third largest castle in Poland – Książ. It is also important to note the natural beauties of the region – mountains, two national parks (Karkonosze and Góry Stołowe), ski resorts, two objects included in the UNESCO World Heritage List: the Church of Peace in Jawor and the Church of Peace in Świdnica the Centenary Hall in Wroclaw.

The Lower Silesian Voivodeship, where the live broadcast is coming from, is located in the southwestern part of Poland. In the west it borders on Germany, in the south on the Czech Republic, and on the territory of Poland with three voivodships: Lubusz, Wielkopolska and Opole. The most significant sights of Lower Silesia

The Chokha Castle, where the shooting of the TV series “The Secret Cipher Mystery” took place, is very popular among tourists. Guests of the unique citadel can make a “Journey to the Middle Ages”, visit the Festival of pyrotechnics used in cinema, the Festival of Historical Cuisine and the Days of Craft. Chokha Castle is included in the European route of castles and palaces.

In Lower Silesia with the city you see in the online camera, there are many excellent ski resorts. So, among the mountains of the Karkonosze, the peak of Śnieżka stands out, towering over the city of Karpacz. In addition, in Karpacz there is a miniature church of the Van Evangelists – the oldest wooden church in Poland.

The UNESCO World Heritage List includes: the Churches of Peace in Świdnica and Jawor are the largest wooden buildings in Europe that perform religious functions.

Perla Zachodu (“Pearl of the West”) is famous for its excellent recreational opportunities – a former mountain shelter on the edge of a cliff overlooking Modre Lake. In the voivodship shown online, there are four lakes, which are called Multicolored: yellow, purple, blue, green. All of them are located at different levels at the foot of the Wielka Kopa mountain in the eastern part of Rudava Janovicki.

It is interesting to get acquainted with the fortress in Srebrna Góra – the largest building of this type in Europe and the largest military landmark in the region. Various events are held here, for example, the “Fortress Festival”. Don’t miss the chance to see Kłodzko Fortress as well.
