Live stream webcam demonstrates the famous Kazan Cathedral made in Empire style, one of the largest churches in St. Petersburg, 72 meters height. The building on our web camera online is created in the 19th century, located on the wide Nevsky Prospekt – the biggest street in the center of St. Petersburg.
The temple got the title of military glory monument after the Patriotic War of 1812. Later, in 1932, he was transferred to the Museum of the History of Religion and Atheism, and in the early 1990s Kazan Cathedral opened its doors as an active church. In the 21st century, it is the official church of the St. Petersburg diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

One of the most revered Orthodox icons – Mother-of-God of Kazan was moved here on July 2, 1737. This icons presence in the church gave the name to the church Kazan. During the reign of the Russian Empress Elizabeth Petrovna (Elizabeth of Russia), the church got the cathedral status and its official name – the Kazan Cathedral. The temple was the most important place in the late 18th – early 19th centuries. Many members of the royal families were married here.
