Triumphal Arch

In this live broadcast you can see one of the symbols of Paris and all of France – Triumphal Arch (L’Arc de Triomphe).

As well shown by the webcam, currently undergoing renovation work on a grandiose structure, which you can watch online.

The idea of reconstructing the Triumphal Arch in a webcam belongs to a person who is no longer among us. But in his honor and in his memory, a large team of specialists decided to implement their plans in the autumn of 2021.

Upon completion, the world famous monument in the center of Paris, shown online, will be decorated with 25,000 m2 of silver-blue recyclable fabric and 3,000 meters of red rope. This will not be a permanent decoration of the Arch in the webcam: from mid-September to early October 2021. It is interesting, who will get the privilege to throw off the veil and open the renovated Arc de Triomphe in this live stream?

The majestic Triumphal Arch, which the live camera is directed at, is a famous architectural monument and a symbol of the capital of France. The bright attraction in this webcam is located on Charles de Gaulle square.

The beginning of the construction of the Arch was laid in 1806 by order of the Emperor Napoleon after the Battle of Austerlitz. The construction of one foundation took about 2 years. The entire Arch in live broadcast was built in 1836, after the death of Bonaparte.

100 years later, in 1921, the remains of the Unknown Soldier who fell in the First World War were buried under the arches.

On the facade of the Arc de Triomphe, which you see in the online camera, there are two sculptural groups facing the center – the famous “Marseillaise” by Rude (The departure of the volunteers of 1792) and the “Triumph of 1810” by Corto with Napoleon in the center. On both sides of the arch in the webcam, there are bas-reliefs of the triumphant victories of the Emperor’s army.

Today, the tradition of lighting the Memorial Flame is closely connected with the Arc de Triomphe, shown in live camera.

It is decorated with magnificent bas-reliefs by F. Rude. The eponymous museum is located inside the monumental building. You can climb the Arch, shown in the webcam – there is an observation deck with a stunning view of the Champs Elysees and all of Paris.
