In this webcam you can see the beautiful beach of the resort town of Agaete, located on the island of Gran Canaria. Among other resorts of the Canary Islands, Agaete, where the live broadcast is coming from, stands out for the fact that it hosts the largest festival, which attracts up to 100 thousand guests. It is in Agaete that the only European coffee variety grows.
In the city where the online camera is located, there are several interesting old sights, for example, Iglesia de la Concepción, the church of the 16th century, located in the historic center. From the temple goes the main square of Agaete – Plaza de la Concepcion.
Agaete, with the live streaming beach, is rich in green spaces. Among them: Huerto de las Flores Garden and Tamadaba National Park. Exotic plants grow in the botanical garden and famous Canarian poets, like Tomas Morales, Saulo Toron and Alonso Quesada loved to rest on its territory. Tamadaba Natural Park, which is located in the highest part of Agaete, gained fame thanks to the largest pine forest in Gran Canaria online.
A favorite place for walking in Agaete is the coastal area of Puerto de las Nieves. There is a small chapel that houses a 16th-century triptych “Virgin Mary of the Snow”, attributed to the Flemish painter Van Cleve. There is also a picturesque rock protruding from the sea – Dedo de Dios (Finger of God).
Agaete has many excellent beaches, many of which are quite difficult to access. The beach with the highest popularity is Playa de las Nieves. It is a pebbly beach with warm sea and several coastal restaurants and shops.
Closer to the neighboring town of Aldea there is the Playa de Guayedra beach with black sand and strong winds. It is difficult to get to it. Next to it there are the beaches of Playa de Sotavento, Playa de Faneroque and Playa de El Risco. The rocky Playa del Juncal lies on the border with the Galdar municipality.
There is a large shopping center in Agaete in the web camera, which is located in the Puerto de las Nieves area. There are a large number of shops, souvenir shops, restaurants, cafes and shopping centers. In the center of Agaete, near the Plaza de la Concepción, there is a casino, cultural center, city hall and library.
