This webcam is located in the Chobe National Park, the oldest national park, founded in 1967 in the territory of Botswana, and the third largest in this state. The territory of the park in live broadcast is 10 566 km².
Chobe Park, shown in the online camera, is one of the most beautiful corners of Botswana. There is an interesting landscape and diverse fauna.
The uniqueness of the Chobe National Park online, is also that it is located on the border of three countries – Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. In the north of the park flows the Chobe River – the natural border between Botswana and neighboring Namibia.
The park, where the live stream is coming from, is home to one of the largest populations of wild animals in Africa and around the world. It is home to over 400 species of birds, African elephants and a large number of other large mammals.
There are several ecosystems in Chobe National Park where the webcam is located. Serondela is a lush plain and dense mahogany forest along the Chobe River in the northeast.
The Savuti swamps to the west are some of the best wildlife watching spots in Africa. For several days here you can get acquainted with all African inhabitants online: elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, as well as predators – lions, hyenas, jackals.
Linyanti swamps are located in the northwest, north of Savuti, by the Linyanti River. To the west of this area there is the Selinda Nature Reserve, and on the northern bank of the Kwando River in Namibia there is the Mamili National Park. These two rivers are surrounded by forests, woodlands and lagoons. The rest of the area consists of floodplains.
There is a dry hinterland between the Savuti and Linyanti swamps.
The Chobe National Park, where the live feed is conducted from, is home to a large population of African elephants. It is known that from 50 to 120 thousand of these animals live here.
