Tisno Bridge

Although the Tisno Bridge in webcam may not be one of the most outstanding architectural solutions of the 21st century, it is very important.

The Tisno Bridge, shown in the live camera, connects the island of Murter with northern Dalmatia on the mainland of Croatia and passes through a narrow strait that separates them. The drawbridge in the live stream only opens for thirty minutes at five o’clock in the afternoon to let the boats through. The rest of the time it remains closed and functions as a car and pedestrian.

Tisno

Tisno, where the online broadcast comes from, is a town located partly on the mainland, partly on the island of Murter.

A striking example of Baroque architecture is the parish church of the Holy Spirit, built in 1548, rebuilt in 1640 and significantly expanded in 1840. Local architects built a bell tower in 1684.

Every year on May 26, pilgrims from all over the world come to Tisno to visit the Church of Our Lady of Caravaggio, built in the 18th century by the Italians.

The oldest architectural monument of Tisno in this web camera is located near the outskirts of the city on the Ivin hill – this is the Church of St. Martin, built on the ruins of an early Christian sanctuary in the 13th century.

There is a memorial in Tisno, where the live broadcast is from, dedicated to the victims of the regime of communist Yugoslavia, when hundreds of Croatian residents were killed and buried in a mass grave.

Murter

Murter, where the city of Tisno online is located, is an island in the central part of Croatia near the Adriatic Sea, not far from Dalmatia. The nearest settlements, located a little to the west, are Vodice and Šibenik.

The territory of the island in this webcam includes four cities – tourist sites with developed infrastructure: Tisno in web camera, Jereza, Betina and Murter. The total area of the island is 18.6 sq. km.

The town in the online camera is known for its large-scale annual holidays in honor of the Mother of God.

Jereza is the smallest town on the whole island. Its name comes from the large lakes formed as a result of heavy rains in the autumn and winter seasons. In spring and summer, these lakes dry up. Modern Jereza is a typical village of fishermen and farmers.

The highest point of the picturesque island is Raduch (more than 120 m above the sea coast). From the Dalmatian coast, Murter, fwhere the live webcam is broadcasting from, is separated by a narrow strait no more than 20 m wide. Murter is connected to the mainland by a drawbridge online.

Murter in the webcam is an excellent beach resort: sports such as windsurfing, diving, and water skiing are popular here. In addition, the island is very attractive for those who love to sail. For them, there is a yacht club on the waterfront.

On Murter, it is also easy to discover picturesque coves hidden from the eyes. The beaches are mostly pebbly or sandy, but there are also rocky ones.

In the west of the island in the online camera there is the Kornati archipelago, officially declared a national park. Kornati is separated from Murter by a bay – the Murter Sea.
