Piazza del Popolo

This high-resolution camera shows Piazza del Popolo in the historic center of Todi, a hilltop town in the Italian province of Perugia (Umbria region).

In this live stream you can see the Captain’s Palace and the People’s Palace, also, on the other side of this square, you will find Todi Cathedral with round rosette windows on its façade. Beneath the square in the webcam there are two Roman cisterns belonging to a series of underground tunnels dating back to the 2nd century BC.

The beautiful Todi, where the live stream comes from, rises on a hilltop with a breathtaking view of the Tiber Valley. The real architectural treasures of Todi are hidden behind the fortress walls of the city, where the webcam is located: churches, palaces and museums with rich expositions. But the most valuable in Todi are its squares – the most picturesque in all of Umbria.

It is better to start a walk around the city in an online camera from Piazza del Popolo – the main square of the city, shown in real time. It appeared on the site of an ancient Roman forum. There is a 12th century cathedral here. The interior of the temple is decorated with an altar of the 14th century, rich frescoes and choir inlaid with precious stones.

Here on the square there is the Palazzo del Capitano. This grand building with unique windows and a wide staircase is now home to the Etrusco-Roman History Museum and the Pinacoteca Art Museum.

One of the most striking temples of Todi, the area of which is shown by a webcam online, is the church of San Fortunato, founded in 1292 and completed 200 years later. The temple is decorated with bizarre images of people and animals. The famous 13th century Italian religious poet Jacopone da Todi rests in San Fortunato. His statue stands at the entrance to the temple.

Not far from San Fortunato there is another interesting church of Santa Maria della Consolazione. This 16th century temple with 4 apses and a beautiful dome is one of the finest Renaissance monuments in Central Italy, where there is live stream comes from.
