Bdinci Square
In webcam you can clearly see the famous square of the small Bulgarian town of Vidin – Bdinci. During its short history, the square in a live broadcast several times changed its name. In the 90s, it was named after Dmitry Blagoev, earlier – Joseph Stalin.
The square, clearly visible online, appeared in the early 20th century in the oldest district of the city of Vidin – Kale. In the center of Bdinci Square, which you see in a webcam, since 1911 there has been a “Monument of Grieving Warrior” dedicated to the 3rd Infantry Regiment, taking part in the Serbian War of 1885. After its dismantling, there were establish the monument „Победен щурм“ known as “Bdinci”, also dedicated to the soldiers who fought for their state.
Since 1970, Bdinci Square, where online camera is located, has become a pedestrian. In live stream camera there is a local skyscraper on the southwestern side of the square – Soviets House, which is visible in the livecam on the left. Currently, it houses the Vidin city administration.
Around Bdinci Square, where online camera is located there are many restaurants, cafes and hotels.
The advantageous location of the square, which you see in the webcam, provides a convenient walk along the Danube River Embankment.
Vidin
Vidin, where Bdinci Square that you see in live stream, is a small town located on the Danube coast. From the capital of Bulgaria, the city of Sofia is 190 km of distance.
From the beginning of its existence, Vidin online was a very small Romans border fortification. But over time, this town acquired the status of the Vidin kingdom capital. Later, the town came under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. Since 1853 Vidin you see in live camera has played a key role in the Balkan wars. During the Ottoman yoke reign, Vidin fell into decay, in urban architecture appeared oriental elements. The revival of Bulgarian culture began at the end of the 19th century.
Vidin, where the online broadcast is coming from, is rich in unique citadels. The most famous fortress of Vidin is Baba Vida, built in 10-11 centuries on the place of the ancient Roman fortress Bononia. It is known, the fortress survived the Byzantine army siege, lasted 8 months. But unfortunately it was destroyed. The new construction of the citadel began under the reign of Ivan Sratsimir. At the end of the 18th century, it served as an arsenal and prison. The construction area is approximately 36,000 sq.m. Today Baba Vida is a museum.
There is another fortified fortress wall – Kaleto, located along the river bank of Vidin.
There are interesting religious sights in the town with webcam. For example, the Cathedral of Saint Demetrius. This is the second largest temple after the church of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. One more unique religious building is Klisura Monastery, built in the 13th century, but destroyed by the Turks. The monastery was rebuilt in 1869.
Also, in Vidin, whose area is clearly visible online, there is an ethnographic museum in the building of the former Pasha’s palace, built in 1798.
Among the richest museums in Bulgaria there is also the Vidin Historical Museum.

The climate in Vidin online is temperate continental. It is cold in winter and hot in summer. The average annual air temperature is + 11.2 C.
