Holy Resurrection Cathedral

In our online camera in the center there is the most important and largest Orthodox Church in Brest and the whole of Belarus - Holy Resurrection Cathedral.

The church, which you see in the live camera, was erected in 1995 in honor of the Victory in World War II.

The great temple, which accommodates up to 5 thousand people, was consecrated by the Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus' Alexy II.

The five domes of the Holy Resurrection Cathedral, which you see in the webcam, are symbolizing of Christ and the four apostles-evangelists.

Brest

Brest, where there is live stream, is a cozy well-kept town, situated on the south-west of Belarus. The city is located at two rivers: Mukhavets River with excellent beaches and the Western Bug River.

The aforementioned Mukhavets River divides the city into two parts: modern and old with the most important sights of the city.

One of the most popular recreation areas in Brest with our online camera is “Red courtyard" on the bank of the picturesque lake.

The main symbol of Brest is the great Brest Fortress (of 19th century) is a defensive structure at the beginning of the Second World War, which was the first to take the blow in the Belarusian battle. Currently, there are sculptures reminiscent of these bloody battles. There is also a Museum of Defense in the barracks.

There are several 14th-century buildings fragments on the territory of the Brest Fortress that are stored in the “Berestye", a branch of Brest local history Museum.

Another ancient monument is Belaya Vezha (of 13th century). It is a defense and watch tower located 40 km from Brest in our online stream camera. Now there is a branch of the Brest regional Museum of local lore.

The most beautiful of them are the snow-white Holy Cross Exaltation Church (late classicism) and the Trinity Church of the 16th century. St. Nicholas and Holy Simeon cathedrals are built in the Byzantine style.

At a distance of 25 km from Brest, in the village of Khmelevo there is the Khmelevsky Transfiguration Monaster with baroque elements, as well as an old roll and myrrh-streaming Our Lady of Częstochowa icon painted by the Apostle Luke.

A very interesting exhibition is stored in Museum of Salvage Values seized from smugglers by customs officers. You can get acquainted with the local painters’ works in the Art Museum.

Of the natural sights, it is worth mentioning the famous Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park located in the Brest region. This is the unique remain of the untouched wild forest that once stretched from the Baltic Sea to the Bug River and from the Oder to the Dnieper.

Belovezhskaya Pushcha is a part of four Belarus national parks and the largest forest zone in central Europe.

Climate

The climate in Brest, the center of which is shown by our live view camera, is moderately continental. Winter is mild, summer is long and warm. The coldest month is January, the hottest is July. Planning a trip to Brest is better in late spring, early autumn or summer.
