In this PTZ webcam, you can see some of the most famous landmarks of the city of Bayreuth. In the left corner of the live camera there is an image with the Iwalewa-Haus house online, whose task is to research and document the works of African culture. In the museum you can visit exhibitions and listen to lectures in one of the conference rooms.

Next to Iwalewa house, which you see in this live feed, there is the Redoutenhaus online. Now it is undergoing renovation work here, but very soon a new opera house will move to the premises of the building.

The fact is that the Margravial Opera House (Markgräfliches Opernhaus) is directly linked to the Redoutenhaus in a webcam. This site has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012. The Opera House is one of the most beautiful Baroque theaters in the world. Opposite it there are the Wittelsbacher Brunnen fountain and the castle church from the time of the margraves (in the early Middle Ages in Western Europe it is an official under the king, endowed with broad powers in the mark).

The live stream also shows the Bayreuth pedestrian zone, which invites all guests to take a leisurely stroll through the shops along it.

Bayreuth

Bayreuth, where the live broadcast takes place from, is a small old town in the south of Germany. The historic center is filled with Baroque buildings. The Richard Wagner Festival, which takes place annually in July, has brought great popularity to the city in the online camera. Musicians and admirers of the great composer’s work come to the event.

As in many medieval cities, in the center of Bayreuth in this webcam there is the Market Square, Marktplatz. Farmers from neighboring towns bring their goods to the city twice a week. In the past, they were traded on the Market Square, but now they moved in a new modern shopping center. Holiday fairs and folk festivals are held on the square.

Markplatz is home to the 18th century Hospital Church (Spitalkirche), renowned for its striking decoration. Organ concerts are held here.

The central street of the city, where the online broadcast is conducted from, is Maximilianstrasse. Along it there are houses built in the 16-18 centuries. The most important building of the street is the old Town Hall, where the city administration was located more than 2 centuries ago. The oldest church in the city, the Stadtkirche, rises on the same street. Built in 1270, the temple today pleases with the appearance acquired in the 17th century. The main street also houses a 400-year-old pharmacy with interiors reminiscent of 17th century furnishings. Of course, like any central street, Maximilianstrasse is full of cafes, restaurants, and expensive shops.

Climate

Bayreuth with this web camera, is located in the east of Bavaria by the Red Main River, between the Fichtel mountain range and Franconian Switzerland.
