There is an amazing live broadcast on the city of Norderney, located off the coast of the German federal state of Lower Saxony, on the Norderney island, the second largest among the East Frisian islands.

The main part of the Norderney territory, which you see in a webcam, is occupied by the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition, Norderney is the oldest German resort (since 1797) on the North Sea coast.

East Frisian Islands

The German East Frisian Islands (Ostfriesische Inseln), one of which is shown online, belongs to the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Wattenmeer nature reserve in the Niedersachsen federal state of the North Sea. You can get to the islands from the mainland by ferry.

Besids the Norderney Island, which this webcam is directed to, the East Frisian Islands include inhabited islands: Borkum, Baltrum, Langeoog, Juist, Wangerooge and Spiekeroog and 5 uninhabited islands.

East Frisian Islands attractions

Borkum Island is the largest and most western of the archipelago. Bright sights of Borkum are: Museum of Cultural Heritage and the Borkum Reef Museum.

Juist is a small part of the land is the snake shape. Important sights of the island are: Bird Sanctuary Ammersee, Coast Museum and the only freshwater lake in East Frisia.

Langeoog is a resort island with the highest dune in East Frisia. In addition, the Maritime Museum and the water tower are located here.

Baltrum Island is the smallest island in East Frisia. The local landscape is covered with dunes and salt marshes. Cultural pastimes include a visit to the National Park House-Tide House exhibition.

The most quiet and peaceful island is Wangerooge. Here are ideal conditions for relaxation in complete seclusion. The most interesting objects of Wangerooge are the 39-meter lighthouse and the house of the National Park.

The small island of Spiekeroog with amazing sandy hills attracts fans of natural beauty. The brightest local attraction is a Mussel Museum. Also, the island has excellent SPA and health centers.

Norderney Island, where online stream is conducted from, was the first of the North Sea islands where Prince George V of Hanover built a summer residence. Among the attractions worth to see: Resort Theatre in the Art Deco style, Bathhouse in the Art Nouveau style and the Conversation House in the neoclassical style.

Tourists with organized excursions visit all the inhabited islands of the East Frisian archipelago on ferries. Important information: each guest will be charged a resort fee (Kurtaxe) of € 3.50 per day for staying on any of the islands. So, travelers can relax on the beaches and visit museums. If the guest is booking a hotel, then there is no need to pay a fee separately, as it is included in the hotel price.
