Nakhimov Square

This webcam shows one of the main squares of the city of Sevastopol – Nakhimov Square. On the esplanade, in an online broadcast, there is a memorial wall with 19 commemorative plaques attached to it. Each of them bears the names of units of the Primorsky Army, ships of the Black Sea Fleet and industrial enterprises that took part in the defense of Sevastopol in 1941-1942.

There are also 7 granite slabs on Nakhimovskaya Square in the webcam. There are also seven granite slabs with the names of the Heroes of the Soviet Union. The composition is united by a relief image of a warrior reflecting the enemy’s attack.

In the middle of Nakhimov Square, in this live feed, there is a monument to Admiral P. S. Nakhimov, the famous naval commander, hero of the first defense of Sevastopol, who led it since October 1854.

Sevastopol with a beautiful view, opening in this live camera, is an excellent beach resort with multiple bays. There are approximately 30 beach areas in the city. The best beaches are considered to be the coast of Cape Fiolent, Cape Ayia, Laspi Bay and Batiliman Bay.

The best way to enjoy the views of the resort city in this webcam, is by climbing the Sinop stairs to the top of Central Hill.

Lovers of cultural and historical relaxation should look into the “Defense of Sevastopol 1854- 1855” panoramic museum, storing the canvas depicting the Malakhov Hill battle.

It is also interesting to get acquainted with the Sapun Mountain memorial and visit the legendary ‘Valley of Death’.

At a distance of 3 km from the center of Sevastopol, which you see online, there are the ruins of the ancient Greek city of Chersonesus.

Climate

Sevastopol online, is dominated by two climatic zones: mild, sea, temperate continental in the mountains (it is always cooler there) and subtropical Mediterranean beyond Cape Fiolent. Winter is mild, there is no snow. February is the coldest month in the city. The hottest month is July. It is comfortable to swim here from the end of May to the beginning of October.
