Park of the Live History “Fedyukhiny Vysoti”

This webcam shows the unique theme park of living history “Fedyuhins Heights”, opened in September 2020. The atmosphere of several eras from the history of Crimea and Sevastopol from ancient times to the recent past has been recreated in the area where the online broadcast is being conducted from.

On the territory of the park there are three amazing museums dedicated to the history of Crimea and Sevastopol: the Roman fort of Castrum of the 1st-3rd centuries AD, the Genoese manor of the 15th century Loco Cimbali, the Historical site “The First Defense of Sevastopol 1854-55gg”.

Roman Fort Castrum 1-2 centuries AD – one of the museums of the park of living history in this webcam, is the last outpost of the Roman Empire on the borders of the barbarian steppes. It is a Roman military fortification located on a hill with an earthen rampart and observation towers. The fortress is protected by powerful walls. Inside the fort there is the camp of the legionnaires. The Roman invaders erected such buildings in the territories of the conquered regions. The closest similar fortress was located nearby in Balaklava. Guided tours are held in the Roman military camp of the park in this online camera. Tourists inspect the walls and towers of the fortress, as well as get acquainted with the military service and life of Caesar’s soldiers. In the reconstructed citadel, staged gladiator fights periodically take place.

The Museum of the 15th century Genoese estate “Loco Cimbali”, located in the park “Fedyukhiny Vysoti”, where there is a live stream coming from, is a cozy corner of medieval civilization. In the 15th century, the entire coast of Crimea was seized by the Italians from Genoa. Nearby in Balaklava lie the ruins of the Cembalo citadel, and here on the Fedyukhin Heights in an online camera, the Loco Cimbali estate (“Cimbali place”) was erected. Any detail of the settlement has been recreated according to old engravings and frescoes. The technologies and materials from the 15th century were used in the construction: everything was built by hand. During a tour of this park museum in an online live camera, guests will learn about the culture and crafts of Italians in the Crimea during the Middle Ages.

The historical site “The First Defense of Sevastopol 1854-55”, which is also located in the park “Fedyukhiny Heights” in the online broadcast – is a museum of the Crimean War, dedicated to the First Defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855. This is a fragment of the fortifications of the Russian army and the siege camps of the British and French. Having visited this museum, travelers are immersed in a difficult wartime. All exhibits are exact copies of items from the 19th century.

The plans for the Fedyukhiny Vysoti live history park, where the live feed is going from, is the creation of new historical sites: Byzantium and “Ancient Russia”, “The Beginning of the 20th Century”, “The Great Patriotic War”, “Cold War”, “Siege Engines” and “Children Playground”.

In addition to the listed museums, the park shown in this web camera, has a historical shooting range where you can shoot bows and crossbows accompanied by a professional instructor.

Also on the territory of “Fedyukhin’s Heights”, which fragment you can see in the online camera, there are: parking, cafes, places of trade, an information center, a medical center and others.

In the park, shown by a webcam, since 2014, every year, in September, a major event has been organized – the Crimean Military and Historical Festival (KVIF), when hundreds of reenactors from Russia and abroad come here.

The Fedyukhin Heights Open Air Museum, which element you observe in a live broadcast, offers following services: organization of historical festivals, excursions, corporate tours and programs, historical family holidays, photo sessions, filming locations, costumes and props rental.
