The webcam shows the city center of Cinderford, located on the eastern edge of the Forest of Dean Coalfield in Gloucestershire, England.
The former mining village, emerged in the 19th century, now is the one of the main employment centers in this region. Cinderford, which is streamed live, is the perfect place to explore Dean Coalfield Forest, one of the smaller coal fields in the British Isles. The city is also home to the Dean Heritage Center.
Thus, the former mining town that you see in the online camera is slowly reviving, attracting new businesses to the area. In the city center, called The Triangle, there are two beautiful sculptures – the city’s war memorial and a statue of local miner Dave Harvey.
Cinderford, showed in a live web camera, offers an excellent selection of shops, one of the finest Indian restaurants in the region, and a visit to the beautifully restored Edwardian Palace Cinema.
Cinderford Artspace is a relatively new venue which showcases work by local and national craftspeople and artists.
To the west of Cinderford, in this live stream, there is the small village of Soudley with one of the area’s top attractions, the Dean Heritage Center. Here tourists can get acquainted with the history of the region. The center also offers the opportunity to see traditional craftsmen at work, view art exhibitions at the Gallery, and attend a number of interesting family events throughout the year.
Near Cinderford, one of the streets of which can be seen live, there are the villages of Littledean, Drybrook and Ruardean. Each offers a good selection of cozy restaurants, pubs and hotels. Ruardean is also known as the birthplace of the Horlicks Malt Milk founders, James and William Horlick.
The Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley are home for many attractions, some of which are man-made and some of natural origin, but they all deserve a visit. Here you can learn about the history of the area or take a walk through the reserve.
Wye Valley with outstanding natural beauty is an important protected landscape park located on the border between England and Wales. It is one of the most dramatic and picturesque landscapes in Britain, located on the Wye River, the fifth longest in the United Kingdom.
There are many attractions for the whole family to enjoy, relax or get to know the animal world. There is also plenty to do on rainy days, from museums to caves. Alternatively, you can ride a steam train through the woods or take a cruise on the Wye River.
