Łańcut
The city of Łańcut, where the live stream is coming from, was founded in the 14th century by King Casimir the Great.
The most important historical and architectural monument in Łańcut , where the webcam is located, is the Lubomirski and Potocki families castle “Łańcut castle”. The construction of this citadel lasted from 1629 to 1641. Stanislav Lubomirski, the greatest tycoon of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, stood at the origins of the construction. Later, fortifications with bastions at the corners and deep moats appeared around the building. A palace was built in the fortress and successfully withstood the Swedish invasion in 1655 and the attack of the Rákóczi troops in 1657.
In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the castle was rebuilt and turned into a tycoon’s residence resembling a palace. The interior of the building was supplemented with picturesque stucco moldings, artistic canvases and sculptures. The palace park was expanded, a greenhouse appeared.
After World War II, one of the largest and most luxurious interior museums in Poland opened its doors in Łańcut online.
From the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, on the territory of the stables and carriage house of the castle, there is a carriages collection, the largest in Poland with the webcam, and one of the largest in Europe.
Łańcut Castle hosts many cultural, scientific, social international and local events. The most striking of them is the annual festival of classical music.
