This PTZ webcam shows different corners of the city of Ulan-Ude, located in the Republic of Buryatia.

Besides, in the live camera is available an amazing attraction – light musical fountain,  located on the Theatre Square at the central entrance of the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, also visible in the web camera lens.

The fountain, well shown in the online broadcast, opened on June 30, 2011 in honor of the 350th anniversary of the voluntary entry of Buryatia into Russian Federation.

In the daytime, the fountain in a live stream camera “dances”  with classical music. In the evening, it is also beautifully highlighted with different colors.

The city in the online broadcast is included in the list of historical cities of Russia.

Ulan-Ude, which you see in live camera, appeared in 1666. The historical city center in this online camera is located in the Sovetsky district on the cape at the confluence of rivers at the mouth of the Uda River, an inflow of the Selenga River. Bright architectural monuments of Ulan-Ude from the 18th to the 21st centuries have been preserved here.

In the most beautiful part of the historical center there are old wooden houses: small houses of the 19th century with carved platbands, large solid houses of the early 20th century, as well as simple one-and two-story buildings of Soviet-era barracks.

The main street of the historical center of Ulan-Ude, shown online, is Lenin Street, the former Bolshaya Nikolaevskaya Street, with the important city attractions. At one end of the street there is the oldest building in Ulan-Ude – the 18th-century Odigitrievsky Cathedral. On the other there is a large sculpture of Lenin’s head, located on the square in fromt of administration building, that you also can see online. These two points are connected by the local Arbat – a popular walking area.

Other interesting sights of Ulan-Ude online, the center of which you see in the webcam are: Opera and Ballet Theatre, arch of 1891 in honor of the visit of Tsarevich Nikolai Alexandrovich, ancient stone mansions, Museum of Buryatia Nature and the Museum of History of Ulan-Ude. Also, there are many souvenir shops in the city and even a retro soda machine.

It is nice to stroll along the ancient Embankment Street along the Uda River, from where you can enjoy beautiful views of the nameless foothills of the Khamar-Daban, Ulan-Burgas and Tsagan-Daban ranges. Here you can also see the Lysaya Gora hill, which gave the name to the village with the largest statue of Buddha Shakyamuni in Russia. From Lysaya Mountain it is clearly visible the city is located in a mountains bowl.

The best restaurants and cafes with different cuisines in Ulan-Ude, shown in an online camera, are concentrated in the historical center of the city. Buryat national dishes are easily found on the menu of almost every institution in any area of the city in the live broadcast. Often you can see a sign with a big letters: «Бууза» (Buryat manti), that means that such a popular traditional dish is prepared here. Interestingly, in Ulan-Ude you see in live camera, there are many restaurants in the form of richly decorated yurts, where offer only national dishes of Buryatia. Especially there are many such institutions in the village of Verkhnyaya Berezovka.
