The 80-meter beach area shown in the webcam is located in the eponymous municipality of the Spanish province of Gipuzkoa, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country.

The first village on the site of Mutriku, where the online broadcast comes from, appeared in 1209. In the middle of the 16th century, the city was almost completely burned down. Mutriku was restored only in the 19th century. Traditional cuisine of Mutriku, whose coast is shown in a webcam, mainly includes vegetables and beans, which make such a national dish as cocido (thick bean or chickpea soup with vegetables, meat and smoked meats.) Cod seasoned with green sauce is very popular. Also, tuna, swordfish and sea eel are used. Olives and sweets are often on the menu. Cheese, sausages, olives and wines are brought from Mutriku as a souvenir.
