Mutriku Beach

Mutriku (Motrico)

The first village on the site of Mutriku, where the online broadcast comes from, appeared in 1209. In the middle of the 16th century, the city was almost completely burned down. Mutriku was restored only in the 19th century. At the end of the 20th century it began to actively develop as a tourist resort city, where the Spaniards and residents of other European countries prefer to come.

The most interesting historical sites of Mutriku, whose beach you see online, are its religious monuments. For example, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the 19th century with a picture of Christ attributed to El Greco. Another church – St. Andrew Astigarribia is considered the oldest in the province of Gipuzkoa.

Other attractions of Mutriku: Galdon palace, Sabiel palace, Montalivet Palace, the houses of Olasarra-Misquia with a brick facade, Berriatua Tower, the exchange of Saarra, where the museum is now.

Traditional cuisine of Mutriku, whose coast is shown in a webcam, mainly includes vegetables and beans, which make such a national dish as cocido (thick bean or chickpea soup with vegetables, meat and smoked meats.) Cod seasoned with green sauce is very popular. Also, tuna, swordfish and sea eel are used. Olives and sweets are often on the menu. Cheese, sausages, olives and wines are brought from Mutriku as a souvenir.

Climate
