There is no information about the exact date when the Bolków castle in live camera was appeared, but there is info that it arose before 1277. In the past, a fortress that is perfectly displayed online was called Hain. In 1312, Prince Bernard renamed it in honor of his father, Prince Bolko I the Severe.
During the 30-year war, the Bolków Citadele in the webcam was attacked twice by Swedish troops in 1640 and 1642, but survived. In 1646, it was finally occupied by the Swedes. In 1703, the fortress was sold to the Cistercians from Krzeszów, and after the state confiscated the order’s property in 1810, Bolków became state property. Since 1900, a museum has been operating in the citadel, more precisely the Branch of the District Museum in the city of Jelenia Gora, where there is also an online camera on the Baltic Live Cam website.
