Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura, where the live broadcast comes from, is the second island after Tenerife in the Canary archipelago. It is generally accepted that Fuerteventura is the oldest island of the Canaries, formed after volcanic eruptions many thousands of years ago. Unlike Tenerife or Lanzarote, part of the island’s beaches in that webcam are covered not with volcanic black sand, but with golden sand.
Fuerteventura, where the live camera is located, is very fond of surfers.

The main resorts of the island are Costa Calma, Morro del Jable and Playa Matorral, located on the Jandia Peninsula, as well as Caleta del Fustes and Playa de Corralejo.

In Fuerteventura, from where the online broadcast is conducted, there are several dozen beach areas. To the north and west are the beaches of Corralejo, Cofete and Barlovento, popular with surfers.

On the eastern side of the island in this webcam is the longest beach of Fuerteventura, 30 km long – Sotavento. It consists of small beaches: Matoral, Butihondo and Sotavento itself. Every year in July-August, the World Windsurfing Championship takes place here.

The most successful place for diving is the strait between Lobos and Fuerteventura, shown live. The best deep sea fishing and boat trips can be found in the area of ​​Playa de Corralejo and Morro del Jable.

Of the few historical sights of the capital of the island, the house-museum of the philosopher and writer Miguel de Unamuno in the old Fuerteventura Hotel stands out.

The old capital of the island in online broadcast – Betancuria, located in the crater of an extinct volcano, is considered one of the most beautiful settlements in Fuerteventura. It was founded in 1405. The center of this city is under state protection, as the number of architectural monuments on its territory is huge.

It is interesting to visit the village of La Oliva with amazing architecture. Here is the unique church of Nuestra Señora de Candelaria with a square bell tower and a stunningly beautiful carved wooden door. The interior of the temple contains a canvas depicting the Last Judgment, a baroque painting on the altar, and paintings made using the trompe technique (“trick of the eye”). In addition, this village houses an art center with works by Canarian artists.
