Mamayev Kurgan

This webcam is aimed at one of the most famous sights of Volgograd – Mamayev Kurgan, located on a hill. The monument shown in the online broadcast is a Monument-ensemble to the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad during the Second World War.

The Mamayev Kurgan complex, which you see in live camera, includes a high-relief composition “Memory of Generations”, square to “Those who Fought to Death” “Alley of the Pyramidal Poplars”, Ruined Walls, Monumental relief, “Square to the Heroes”, “Square of Sorrow”, Hall of Military Glory, Military Memorial Cemetery, Memorial Arboretum at the base of Mamayev Kurgan online, and the famous monument of Motherland Calls statue, which rises in a webcam. More than 30,000 soldiers are buried on Mamayev Kurgan.

The memorial, perfectly visible online, is located on the right bank of the Volga River at an altitude of 102 meters.

Volgograd

Volgograd, one of the most famous monuments of which you see in a live broadcast, stands on the Volga River.

Every year, more than 1000 pilgrims visit the city in this webcam, and observe the oldest Orthodox monasteries, churches, monasteries and holy sources.

Undoubtedly, the main attraction of Volgograd is Mamayev Kurgan, shown in the online camera. Also, there are several museums that worth attention: the Battle of Stalingrad Museum-Panorama, Memory Museum and the Volgograd Regional Museum of Local Lore.

Historical fact: more than 40,000 homes were destroyed during the Battle of Stalingrad. Local residents managed to save three, the most famous of which is the Gerhardt Mill.

There are also the ruins of the laboratory on the territory of the Krasny Oktyabr factory and the ruins of the command post of the 138th Infantry Division on Lyudnikov Island. In addition, there is a lamppost with holes from bullets and fragments.

Other important objects related to the war: elevator, tractor factory, and Pavlov’s House (the place where Field Marshal Paulus was captured).

The “Dancing bridge'”

In May 2010, in Volgograd online, one of the bridges began to swing strongly with an amplitude of up to 1 meter. Due to this event, a bridge longer than 1200 meters was named DANCING.

Old Sarepta Museum Reserve
