Orsk

In this webcam you can see Lenin Avenue and Tbilisskaya Street located in the city of Orsk, Orenburg region of Russia.

Orsk in an online camera, located at the foot of the Ural Mountains, combines the New City in a European style and the Old City, with a predominance of Asian culture. The two parts are divided by the Ural River.

The symbol of the Old City in live broadcast is the Mount Preobrazhenskaya, surrounded by the streets of L. Tolstoy, Stepan Razin, Engels and Parizhskaya. At its top there are the Transfiguration and St. Nicholas churches. Another interesting religious landmark of the city in the online broadcast is the temple of the Orsk women’s monastery.

The historical center of Orsk, shown in the webcam, is decorated with cozy old houses and a large number of monuments. There are two theaters in the city: a drama theater named after A. Pushkin and a theater-studio “Blue Bird”.

Orsk, where the live broadcast is coming from, is divided into three districts: Leninsky, Oktyabrsky and Sovetsky.

Orsk railway station

The Orsk railway station is recognized as an architectural and historical monument. The building in the style of German classicism was designed and erected by the Germans captured after the First World War. On the platform of the station there is a monument, erected in the form of a steam locomotive P36, which ply in the Orenburg region from 1934 to 1964.

Orsk museums

You can get acquainted with the history of Orsk, where the online stream is being conducted from, in the Museum of History and Local Lore, which is located on Lenin Avenue in this webcam. Here are stored: collections of applied and fine arts, archaeological finds, numismatics, interesting household items from antiquity to modern times. The exhibition “Secrets of the Valley of the Amazons” is very popular. Its exhibits were found in the Orsk region. For children, there is an excursion game “Russkaya Gornitsa”, where in a playful way is told about the life of previous generations.

In the Old Town of Orsk there is a branch of the museum, which presents an exposition dedicated to Taras Shevchenko.

Orsk parks

In Orsk, the center of which you see in the webcam, there are several large parks: the park of culture and rest, the Builders Park and the Malishevsky garden.

One of the most famous places in the city, shown in the online live camera, is the Memorial of Glory – a bronze plaque lined with a black and green serpentine with an inscription. In front of the memorial there is an eternal flame, as well as marble slabs with the names of those who died in wars and bronze busts of ten townspeople – heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia.

Orsk outskirts

The area surrounding the city in live broadcast is an object of study by archaeologists. In this area, about 40 ancient settlements were discovered, as well as burial mounds and single burial mounds.

In winter, fans of skiing and snowboarding come to Orsk, where the webcam is located. They conquer the southern slopes of the Ural Mountains. Not far from the town of Kuvandyk, 100 km from Orsk online, there is “Dolina” ski resort.
