The ruins of the Second Omsk Fortress rise in the historical center of the city. Almost nothing remained of the first citadel, erected in 1716. And the second fortress preserved the Tara Gates on the northern line and the Tobolsk Gates of the late 18th century.
At a short distance from the fortress there is the oldest building in Omsk – a baroque guardhouse from the late 18th century. Attention is drawn to a beautiful complex of buildings – the Governor-General Palace, where is operating the Museum of History and Local Lore, as well as the Siberian Cadet Corps in the style of classicism.
The largest church in Omsk is the 19th century Assumption Cathedral, restored in 2007, located in the city center.
Vivid examples of the Baroque style are the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Cross, erected in 1870, and the Lutheran Church of the 18th century – one of the most beautiful structures in Omsk, the center of which is shown by an online camera.
Omsk, shown in real time, is popular for its bridges and central embankments with beautiful views of the Irtysh and Om rivers. A magnificent panorama of the city in live stream opens from the bridges of the 60th anniversary of Victory and Leningradsky.
