Forli

Forli in the webcam is a pretty town in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna and the administrative center of the province of the same name, known primarily for its international airport.

But the fact that Forli in the online camera is also one of the oldest cities in Italy, few people know. According to legend, the city was founded by consul Gaius Livius Salinator in 188 BC. Despite this, scientists believe that the first settlements in the Forlì area shown online date back to the Paleolithic.

The center of Forlì, where the live broadcast is conducted from, is the trapezoidal Piazza Aurelio Saffi Square with a statue of an outstanding Italian politician who played an important role in the radical republican trend under the leadership of Giuseppe Mazzini in the 19th century. The square is 128 meters long and 87 meters wide. It is surrounded by a lot of nice restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. Here is located the abbey of San Mercuriale, 1176, which received its name in honor of the bishop, who lived in the 5th century. This abbey is the real religious dominant of all Forlì in the web camera. Thousands of pilgrims come here during the period of large-scale Catholic holidays. In addition, the abbey is notable for the famous Sepulcher by Barbara Manfredi’s.

On the south side of the city in the live camera, there is another religious landmark – the 13th century Dominican church of San Giacomo Apostolo or San Domenico.

In Forli,  where the online broadcast is conducted from, there is the charming palace of Palazzo Hercolan which is also perfectly preserved with scenery dating back to the 19th century and the works of La Beata Vergine del Fuoco con i Santi Mercuriale, Pellegrino, Marcolino e Valeriano by the Italian artist Pompeo Randi. Another charming palace, the Palazzo del Podestà, was painted by the eminent artist Adolfo de Carolis in the 20th century.

The symbol of the city in the online camera is considered to be the majestic Neoclassical Cathedral of Santa Croce, built from an old Gothic temple in 1841 by the architect Giulio Zambianchi. Only the chapel of the Most Holy Sacrament in the left nave remained from the old church.

When traveling around Forli in a webcam, you should definitely take a walk through the Dragon Park on the outskirts of the city in the Ronco area. Also in Forlì there are many bicycle and pedestrian paths that cross the picturesque green corners of the park, designed by Luigi Mirri in 1816. Another remarkable island of nature in Forlì, where the live camera is located, is the Resistenza Park in a typical English style.

A ten-minute drive from the city in a live stream, in the hills behind the Romagnol Riviera, there are Castrocaro and Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta.
